Shemona Lachelle Peterson, beloved daughter of Katherine Rollins and the late Nathaniel Peterson, was born in Albany, Georgia on December 15, 1973.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Albany High School in 1991.  While at Albany High, Shemona was active in numerous student organizations and activities, including the marching band.    Her enthusiasm and exuberant personality made her a favorite among peers, teachers, and close friends.

Shemona was a devoted mother with a steadfast and caring love for her only child, Shemia, who was her most precious treasure.  For numerous years, she worked untiringly Walgreens and was very proud of her 20+ years of service at Lowes.  She was a valued employee who gave her BEST at all times and always found time to add fun, brightness, and cheer to every day.

Family and friends were most important in Shemona's life.  She loved her time spent with them and treasured experiences that brought friends and family together in love and harmony.  Her wit and keen sense of humor generated many smiles and plenty of laughs.  Shemona had a beautiful inner strength that helped carry her through the ups and downs of life—she was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

On August 19, 2022, Shemona transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Roosevelt Toson and J. W. Camel.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Shemia Nicole Peterson of Albany, GA; her mother, Katherine (Jerry) Rollins; siblings, Quinton (Chandylor) Peterson, Demegin Peterson, and Ashley Gibson all of Albany, GA; aunts and uncles, Kathleen (Robert), Pamela, Reginald (Shirley), Gary, Johnny (Janie), Mark, and Victor; nieces and nephew; and a host of cousins, friends, extended family, and devoted 1991 classmates.
