IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Jean
Ford
April 2, 1969 – February 20, 2019
Sherry Jean Ford, daughter of the late William Eugene Ford and Rosa Jackson Ford, was born in Albany, Georgia on April 2, 1969.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System. At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church.
"Poochie" as she was known by many, was a very unique individual who lived life to the fullest. She was one of those rare, free-spirited people who planned and chartered her course; journeyed through exciting and adventurous paths; persevered in the midst of adversity—and yes, she did it all her way.
Staying connected to family was paramount in Sherry's life and she delighted in spending quality time with them. She had a smile that would light up a room and a quick wit that kept everyone on their toes. She laughed often, loved unconditionally, and felt unbridled happiness. When in the company of family and friends, she was always the "life of the crowd" and, oftentimes, entertained them with hours of endless and thought-provoking conversation. She spoke her mind, was very straight forward, and didn't cut any corners. She dearly loved listening to music, dancing, and socializing. Sherry unquestionably enjoyed life and all that it had to offer. Neither hard times, sickness, or incredible adversity could rob her of who she was; oh no, she forged ahead and took the blows—and yes, she did it all her way.
On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, Sherry peacefully relinquished the cares of this life and answered the call to eternal rest at the home of her nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosetta Ford.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, William B. Ford, Sr., La'Keysha Ford of Tampa, FL, Antoinette Ford of Quantico, VA, and Charnelle Ford of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, William Jr., Journey, Michael, Princeton, Peyton, Jaire, Janelle, and Navach; siblings, Mary Ford Morgan and Arthur C. Ford of Albany, GA, Charles Ford of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Kessna J. Ford of Buford, SC, and Wilbur Ford of Asbury, NJ; a devoted nephew and caregiver, Pastor McKebia D. (Kayla) Bray, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Norma Ford and Brenda Ford; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
