Shirley Lucille Grant, oldest beloved daughter of the late Chesterfield Walker, Sr. and Thelma Snipes Walker, was born in Albany, Georgia on August 19, 1948.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, including Monroe High School. Throughout her school years, she enjoyed a very active and well-rounded educational experience.

A woman of great faith and belief in Christ Jesus, Shirley was a dedicated member of Nu Nation Ministries.  She dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful in her daily walk.

Shirley was an exceptionally persistent, conscientious individual who never shied away from hard work.  For numerous years, she was employed with Coats & Clark of Albany where she worked untiringly to meet and/or exceed department goals.  She later joined the ranks of employees at Bob's Candy Company.  During her      25-year career at Bob's, she was as stellar employee who was proud of her work record and continually rendered unparalleled service.

Devoted sister, loving aunt, committed cousin, and unforgettable friend, Shirley's love knew no boundaries. Her compassion, understanding, responsiveness, and willingness to help others made her a cherished friend to many.  In her leisure, she enjoyed many fun-filled family gatherings and watching sci-fi movies.

On February 17, 2025, Shirley transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  Although her absence leaves a void, we find great comfort in knowing that she is present with the Lord.
