IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Silas
Westbrook
February 19, 1947 – March 3, 2019
Silas Westbrook was born on February 19, 1947, in Worth County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Reverend Eugene Westbrook and Anna Lue Blackfoot Westbrook.
He received his formal education in the Worth County School System, graduating from Worth County High School in the class of 1964.
During the early years of his life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Fort Early Missionary Baptist Church. He served faithfully in various capacities of the church and was always willing to help wherever needed.
Silas was a very conscientious, hardworking individual who gave his best at whatever he did. For more than 20 years, he labored untiringly as a transmission specialist at Albany Transmission and Muffler Shop. Silas believed strongly in working hard for what you want, being willing to do the right thing, and making sure that no task was left undone. Not only did he take pride in his work, but he truly relished the friends that he made during his employment.
Devoted father, loving brother, caring uncle, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Silas embraced life with open arms. He had a heart of gold and gave of himself freely. He had an endless reservoir of love for family and friends and he took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them—especially his children and grandchildren. Silas will be missed by all who dearly loved him.
On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Silas' earthly journey ended and he entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was pre- ceded in death by his daughter, Shylene Westbrook-Crump; and his sisters, Ocie Westbrook and Louise Westbrook.
His love and fond memories will continue on in the hearts of his children, Natasha Westbrook (Courtney), Keishanna (Steven) Clark, Dontravious (Quinnia) Westbrook, Dontreal Jenkins, Silas (Veronica) Westbrook, and Robert Westbrook of Rebecca, GA; three siblings, Rudine Mosley of Grand Rapids, MI, Eugene Westbrook, Jr. of Pennsylvania, and Climmie Westbrook of Riverdale, GA; twenty-seven grandchildren, including his youngest, Steven McCrary; a very special nephew, Marqueon Shorter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
