IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sonjas Lachelle
Clark-Wheeler
November 4, 1977 – March 15, 2020
Sonjas LaChelle Clark-Wheeler was born in Albany, Georgia on November 4, 1977. She was the oldest daughter of Charles L. Clark and Mae Lois Jarrell.
She attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty High School. While at Dougherty, she was very active in numerous school organizations and events. She continued her education at Albany State University in Allied Health.
From a very early age, Sonjas was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Shellman, Georgia. She later united with Victorious Life Church of Albany, Georgia where she continued her Christian walk until her demise. Sonjas was a dedicated member and served faithfully as an armour bearer and on the intercessory prayer team. Blessed with the gift of song, she utilized her God-given talent on the praise team, in the choir, and with True Praise Ensemble. She loved praising God and many rejoiced as she melodiously ministered in song.
Sonjas was a very independent person who had an everlasting love for her children. Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her and ate not the bread of idleness. Her 20 years of service in the med-ical field included employment at Albany Area Primary Healthcare. While there, she worked diligently to ensure that no task was left un-done. In 2019, she completed the requirements to become a certified Medical Coder.
On March 15, 2020, Sonjas answered the Master's call to eternal rest. Although absent from our midst, we were blessed to have shared her life.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Brayden Wheeler and Brooklyn Wheeler; her parents, Mae Lois (Joe) Jarrell and Charles Clark of Albany, GA; three siblings, Chandra Clark and Rachel Clark of Albany, GA, and Derrick (Priscilla) Lyons of Atlanta, GA; god-brother, Nicklos Nix of Albany, GA; nieces and nephews, Shay Swan, Jada Brown, Derrion Fountain, and Derrick Lyons; aunts, Catherine Holmes of Leesburg, GA, Carolyn (Michael) Starling of Cuthbert, GA, and Margie Clark of Albany, GA; uncles, Willie Ed Jackson of Rockledge, FL, Walter F.
