Obituary

Standley Ball was born July 25, 1962, in Terrell County, Georgia. He was the son of Gracie Jones Ball and the late Richard Ball.

He received his formal education the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Dougherty Comprehensive High School. Throughout school, Standley was a very inquisitive young man who garnered much from his educational experiences.

While in his teen years, Standley began his steadfast journey with the Lord. He was a devoted member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Dawson and served faithfully wherever needed.

On September 17, 2021, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Joy Johnson. They shared a bond that overflowed with joy and true devotion to each other. Standley was an incredible husband and father who took great care in providing for his family and ensuring their wellbeing. For more than 20 years, he was employed as a driver/deliveryman with Brooks Furniture. He was a loyal, dedicated employee who gave his very best until his health declined.

Standley was a very kind and gentle-hearted man who embraced life's experiences with open arms. He laughed often,
loved unconditionally, delighted in spending time with family and friends, and always stood ready to give support or lend a helping hand.

His life was filled with many interesting experiences combined with various hobbies and pastimes. He was, quite possibly, the best son,
husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, or friend anyone could ever hope for. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, Standley transitioned to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Ball.

A Time to Cherish: Fond memories will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Joy Ball; his mother, Grace Ball; his daughters, Tracey
McGill, Dorothy Ball, and Denise Ball; stepchildren, Joycelyn Green, Jeremy Green, and Javoris Green; siblings, Gregory Ball and Felicia
(Matthew) Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Shawn (Constant) Andrews and Aubrey McCoy; eleven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
