The season of life for Stephen Whitfield began in Albany, Georgia on August 22, 1969. He was the son of Arthur Bell Whitfield and
the late Curry Porter.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System and actively participated in various
school events and activities.
At a young age, Stephen accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Throughout life's seasons, he remained humble and prayerful in his
daily walk. His early biblical teachings guided his life and enabled him to be an example for his family and friends.
Stephen was an exceptionally conscientious individual who gave his best at whatever he did. He firmly believed in working hard for what
you want and always being willing to do the right thing. During the early years of his career, he was employed as a cook. Though largely self-taught, he quickly grasped culinary concepts that allowed him to create bold and memorable flavors while employed at numerous restaurants in Indiana. While this work proved to be challenging and most gratifying, Stephen's passion for "big rigs" began to soar; thus, stirring him to complete the requirements to obtain his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). For many years, he traveled throughout the United States as an experienced long haul truck driver. He took pride in his driving skills and always put safety first while providing outstanding customer service. He was a dedicated employee who never faltered in his duties and responsibilities.
Devoted father, caring son, committed brother, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend, Stephen was most diligent in caring for his family
and would do anything he could for someone in need. He was a very unique man whose life was filled with many interesting experiences.
Truly, he was a genuinely kind individual with a heart of gold.
On December 17, 2023, Stephen transitioned from this earthly life.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ira Kurt Whitfield.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by his mother, Arthur Bell Whitfield; his children, Leon Young, Shanta Young, Alekxander Parker, Jatarius Parker, and Kiandria Floyd; sibilings, Mamie Rawls, LaWayne (Linda) Whitfield, Zoe Jones, Johnny Whitfield, Sabrina
(Raymond) Zackery, and Patsy Whitfield; and a host of extended family and friends.
