Obituary

Susie Mae Brown graciously entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2022 having lived a robust life, largely on her own.

Susie Mae was born in Stewart County to the late Ambrose and Susie Knighton Brown. Susie was educated in the Stewart County Public School System. Susie Mae later moved to Bronx, New York. Susie did not waste time in seeking a church home. Susie joined Union Baptist Church, Bronx, New York. Susie being a song bird joined the Senior Choir, and she also served diligently in the Kitchen Ministry. Susie was also a member of the Bronx Community Choir. Susie kept in shape by joining the YMC. She was a swimmer and she loved to travel.

On October 18, 2016 Susie returned to Albany Georgia as her health had begun to fail. Susie became a resident of Charms Personal Care Home where she received excellent care by Mrs. Shirley Williams. As Susie's health continued to decline, she was transferred to Pruitt Health Care in Sylvester Ga. until her death.

Susie Mae Brown was no stranger when she entered the Pearly Gates all of her siblings were waiting there for her. There were Larvargie Lee, Harry Lee, Alma Lee Crawford, Willie Bell Lee, Walter Cad Lee, Mamie Brown Foster, Sally Brown Bussy, Viola Brown Hudson, Geraldine Brown Buck, Warren, Julius, Carrie, Herman, Annie, Savannah, Charlie, Jerry, Milburn and Solomon Brown…What a reunion!

Susie Mae Brown will live on in the memories of MANY nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will always be some that must be recognized by name. They are nephew / niece Arthur T. and Ollie Brown, nieces Shirley C. Roberts, Barbara C. Fortson and the love of her life, George Williams. Their relationship did not stop in New York. George regularly came to Georgia to visit Aunt Sue always bringing her favorite gospel music.
George would stay by Aunt Sue's bed side until visiting hours were over. In order to get a smile from Aunt Sue, we only had to mention the name "George".
