Obituary

Susie Mae Kelly Carter was born June 27, 1958, in Colquitt, Georgia. She was the daughter of Caldonia Kelly and the late O.C. Kelly. On July 22, 2018, she transitioned to her heavenly home.

She received her formal education in Miller County and graduated from Bethel High School in 1976, Colquitt, GA.

At an early age, she confessed Christ at Newton Holiness Deliverance Church. She later served as a faithful member (until her health failed) of Circle of Love Restoration Temple in Newton, GA (Bishop Gladis Hall, Pastor), which is under the umbrella of Evangelical Faith Vision Ministries, Inc. (Sr. Pastor Apostle Felix & First Lady Andrea Revills). Susie diligently and faithfully served as an armor bearer to her Pastor, an usher, a choir member, secretary/treasurer of the Sunday school department, and in any other capacity she was needed.

She was united in holy matrimony to Freddie Carter Sr. on May 31, 1985. To this union, four children were born.

Susie's charismatic spirit exemplified that of compassion, kindness and humbleness. If she could not help you, she certainly would not hurt you. Her passion for serving others is to be commended. We will forever cherish the echo of her "special laugh", and it will always make us smile.

She leaves everlasting memories and a legacy of love to her devoted husband, Freddie Carter Sr. of Newton, GA; three daughters, Belita Carter, Brittany (Reginald) Woodard and Lauren Carter of Newton, GA; one son, Freddie (Nabrika) Carter Jr. of Albany, GA; three grandchildren, Rah'Niya Woodard, De'Andre' Woodard and Landen Mott of Newton, GA; mother, Caldonia Kelly of Colquitt, GA; five sisters, Arabia (Joseph) Williams, of Newton, GA, Lynda (Jerome) Porter of Deland, FL, Eldoria (Joe) Riggins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Vevelon (Steven) Crankfield, Sr. and Eddie Mae Kelly of Colquitt, GA; five brothers, Eugene (Diann) Kelley of Iron City, GA, Otis (Jennifer) Kelly of Douglasville, GA, Jimmy (Shanda) Kelly and Wilmon (Geneva) Kelly of Colquitt, GA and Walter Kelly of Deland, FL; nine aunts, Maggie Lee Freeman, Ella Lee Hawkins, Emma Jean Kelley and Edrena Kelly of Newton, GA, Betty White of Camilla, GA, Irene (Willie) West of Key Largo, FL, Cordelia Williams of Colquitt, GA, Anna Williams and Orsie Williams of Albany, GA; seven sisters-in-law, Nita (Eddie) Broadway of Dekalb County, GA, Trish (Malden) Batten of Leesburg, GA, Brenda Carter of Conyers, GA, Yulonda Carter-Calhoun of Dawson, GA, Tammy Hazelwood of Albany, GA, Lisa (Dwight) Higbon of Boston, MA, and Mary Hudson of Camilla, GA; seven brothers-in-law, Willie B. "And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
