Terrie Harris James was born in Albany, Georgia on January 8, 1967. She was the youngest of eight siblings born to the late Kaiser and Willie J. Harris.
She attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School, graduating in 1985. She continued her education at Darton College where she earned an Associate degree in Psychology. She later attended Troy University.
At an early age, Terrie gave her life to Christ and united with the Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E. L. Dunlap.
She was blessed with two sons and a daughter whom she nurtured with unconditional love and affection. As a mother and homemaker, she was most attentive to the needs and well-being of her children.
Terrie was a very unique individual who lived a full and enjoyable life. She was one of those rare people who always had the interests of others at heart and brought excitement wherever she went. She was a doting grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren, and an incredible friend who will be missed by her loved ones. She will long be remembered for her upbeat spirit and fantastic sense of humor.
On April 24, 2018, Genie answered the Master's call to come home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Gloria Lewis and John Lewis.
