Obituary

Thelma Mullins Hills, beloved daughter of the late Otis Mullins and Mattie Mae Crawford Mullins, was born in Albany, Georgia on September 3, 1938.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System.

Having professed her belief and faith in the Lord early in life, she was baptized and received the "right hand of fellowship" into the body of Christ.  Thelma was a faithful, dedicated member of Third Kiokee Baptist Church for more than 60 years.  She served unwaveringly on the Usher Board and lifted her voice in song while a member of the Senior Choir.  Over the years, she remained  rooted and grounded in the Lord.

Thelma was domestic at heart and unwavering in her dedication to foster a home filled with love and joy.   During most of her working years, she was employed as a sterile technician in the Central Sterile Processing Department at Palmyra Park Hospital.  Her friends and coworkers remember her as a dedicated, energetic, and fun-loving employee.   She retired in 1990 after rending many years of loyal service.

A source of encouragement and joy to everyone she met, Thelma lived a very full and satisfying life.  She was an exceptional mother who showed unbiased and unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  One of the joys of her life was cooking and her table was always spread to family and friends and she enjoyed spending quality time with them.

On Sunday, May 12, 2019, Thelma's earthly journey ended as she entered into eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, she was  preceded in death by four siblings, Johnny Davis, Ella Siplin, Otis Mullins, Jr, and Estella Davis; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian "Lily" Ruby Jackson.

She leaves a lifetime of love and memories to be cherished by her children, Eddie (Karen) Hills, Linda (Carl) Freeman, and Regina (Robert) George of Albany, GA, Denise Hills of San Diego, CA, Patricia (Todd) Shipp of Fairburn, GA, and Lavinia (Roddrick) Burks of Kennesaw, GA; siblings, Willie Mae Lowe and Cleo Dingle of Jacksonville, FL, and Ethelene Overstreet of Albany, GA; a special cousin, Willie Bell Lyons of Albany, GA; a dear god-sister, Rena Parker of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Erika Hills, Jemarah Hills, Evan Hills, Kyndall Hills, Jordan Hills, Kenya (Cassius) Henry, Chaka (Omar) Hajji, China Campbell, Orina Hills, Eddie Hill, Carla (Oscar) Jackson, Robert Taylor, Jr. Cedric (Jessica) Jackson, Jr., Lexsica (Justin) Williams, Precious Hills, Darryl Williams, Jr. and Cedric Lewis, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jemaul, Kenyon, Parker, Tereah, Peyton, Zoe, Harmony, Dallas, Riley, Autumn, Marley, Londyn, Braylen, Paris, Iyla, Chayce, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
