Obituary

Time to Be Born: Thelma Harrold Lawson was born July 2, 1950, to the late Luberta and Waymon Harrold, Sr. of Albany, Georgia.

A Time to Live: Thelma, affectionately as "Doll," got the name because she was just as pretty and sweet as a doll could be.  At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Beulah Baptist Church where she served faithfully in numerous church auxiliaries.  She later united with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

A Time to Love: On July 2, 1975, Doll married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Alfonzo "Hoss Man" Lawson.  They shared a love that endured for 45 years and a devotion to one another that was strong and unshakeable.  As a wife and mother, she took great care in providing for her family.  She was employed by the Dougherty County School System where she worked untiringly through the years, and retired after rendering years of loyal and dedicated service.

A Time to Lugh: Doll had a loving spirit and she loved spending quality time with family and friends.  She had a servant's heart and felt most comfortable when helping others.  Doll was an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing delicious, mouth-watering treats for everyone to enjoy.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her dearly.

A Time to Mourn :  On December 6, 2020, Doll was called to her heavenly home.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Jimmy Jones, Sr. Johnny B. Harrold, Ulysses Harrold, and Mary Arnold.

A Time to Cherish: Fond memories will forever be cherished by her devoted husband, Alfonza Lawson; her children, Lasonja Chester and De'Andrea Rivers both of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Shamonnica Poter, Anneesa White, and Antenee Campbell; siblings, Lillie (Archie) Rushin of Atlanta, GA, Callie Ponder and Lucious Sutton of Albany, GA, and Waymon (Cynthia) Harrold, Sr. of Glenn Dale, MD; four sisters-in-law, Jackie Harrold, Patricia (James) Culver, Geraldine Covin, and Linda Jackson all of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
