Obituary

Theresa Ann Williamson, beloved daughter of the late Littleton Williamson and Helen Williamson-Edwards, was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on August 31, 1956. She was the youngest of four siblings.

She received her elementary and secondary education in the Mt. Vernon City School District. Throughout school, Theresa was a considerate, attentive young lady with a zeal for knowledge and a yearning to be of service and help others.

She was a proud Mt. Vernonite and actively participated in numerous student organizations and activities.

From a very early age, Theresa was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and began her journey with the Lord.

Over the years, she was unwavering in her Christian stewardship and remained steadfast and prayerful in her daily walk. After relocating to Bear, Delaware, she activated the principles of the church covenant and united with Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church of Wilmington. As her love for God and the church strengthened, she was ordained as a Deacon in 2015 and, thereafter, devoted herself to unparalleled commitment and service to this calling. In all things, she never ceased to give God the glory and praise.

A highly skilled and talented individual, Theresa worked as a customer service representative with Verizon (formally BellSouth) for 30 years. To say she enjoyed her work is an understatement—she loved camaraderie, teamwork, and serving others. Her career was defined by high expectations, unquestionable integrity, and unfaltering perseverance. Upon retirement in 2016, she relocated to Albany, Georgia to become her mother's primary caregiver.

Endearingly called "Mama T" by many, Theresa had a sweet caring spirit and was never too busy to extend a listening ear. She was a hands-on mother who took great pride in celebrating her children and supporting their endeavors. Mama T had servant's heart and was equally involved in her grandchildren's lives and many others who were not her biological children. Having the privilege of being loved by her was to know you would be loved for a lifetime.

On December 22, 2023, Theresa peacefully entered into eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Lamont Killian, Jr.; two siblings, Walter Williamson and Lena Baynes; grandchildren, Myasia and Shamel Killian; father of her children, Lamont Killian, Sr.; nephew, Justin Baynes, and her niece, Coretha Williamson.

She is survived by her children, Christopher (Julia) Killian and Maquinta Killian; her brother, Reverend Frank Williamson; daughter-in-law, Shaunda Killian; grandchildren, Lamont III, Amaia, Kayla, Christopher Jr., Gianna, and Brooklyn Killian; great grandchildren, Kayden and Kameron; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
