IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Johnson
March 30, 1954 – May 24, 2020
Thomas Johnson, son of the late Mary Lee Lamar Johnson and William T. Johnson, Sr., was born March 30, 1954, in Albany, Georgia.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, including Westover High School where he graduated in the Class of 1972.
Thomas was a very independent individual who gave his best at everything he did. Those who encountered him often described him as a caring, hardworking father who provided unconditionally for his children. He was employed at IHop for 40 years; took great pride in his work; and stayed the course to ensure that no task was every left undone. Never satisfied with idleness, he was also employed at College Corner and The Restaurant Equipment Store for numerous years. Throughout his employment, he developed many life-long and endearing friendships.
Thomas wore many hats in his lifetime. He was an incredible father, a devoted brother, a nurturing uncle, a loving cousin, and an unforgettable friend. He laughed often, felt unbridled happiness, and truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who dearly loved him.
On Sunday, May 24, 2020, Thomas' earthly journey ended and he transitioned to his eternal home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Geno Thomas Johnson and Goddess Meiasha Johnson; and his siblings, Mary Wallace, Saddie Jones, Eddie Johnson, Virginia Longstreet, and Mary Faceon.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by his remaining siblings, Sara Lee Johnson, Robert Lee Johnson, William T. Johnson, and Sammie L. Jones; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
