Tony Lee Floyd was born in Albany, Georgia on August 20, 1966. He was the son of the late John and Ardessa Floyd.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System where he actively participated in numerous school organizations and activities. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
As a father and grandfather, Tony was diligent in caring for the needs of his family through varied employment ventures. He never backed down from hard work and he never let any obstacle get in his way. When on the job, he refused to take short cuts and would not leave until the work was done right.
Tony was passionate about his family, about his work, and about his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping others, and being the "go to" person to get things done. He was a good natured, genuine person who greeted each day with open arms. His gigantic smile and one-of-a-kind personality attracted a wide circle of people who were the recipients of a long and lasting friendship. His love of family and their love for him will forever be treasured.
On Thursday, July 19, 2018, Tony's earthly journey ended when he answered the Master's call to come home.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Joseph, Floyd, Velma Floyd, and Doretha Walton; a nephew and niece, Donald Stroble and Sada Shiloh; and one great nephew, Montrel Goines.
He leaves to cherish his memories a very loving and devoted daughter, Kenisha Henderson of Albany, GA; a grandson, Kaden Anthony of Albany, GA; four sisters, Ruby (Jimmy) Peterson, Louise (Eddie) Shiloh, Delores Payton (Billy Stroble, Jr.), and Teresa Floyd (James Terry); five brothers, Louis (Shirley) Brown, Sr., Sammy Brown, Michael (Christine) Floyd, Jimmy Floyd, and Willie Stephens all of Albany, GA; one aunt, DeHazel Fowler of Albany, GA; special nephew and niece, Justin Bell and Camiella Payton of Albany, GA; a very special friend, Tracey Washington of Albany, GA ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
