Obituary

Mr. Tony Lamar Hicks was born November 29, 1966 to Mrs. Carol Hicks-Lewis and the late Mr. John Sibley. Tony committed his life to Christ at an early age, and later became a member of the Victorious Life Church of Albany, Georgia. He was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System and attended Monroe High School.

Tony was employed with various food services through the years. He dedicated his passion for cooking and many skills to ensuring everyone left with a smile on their faces. He loved and was loved by many people.

Love gave way to the birth of his children, Annie Nicole Hicks and Nicholas Jenkins. Extending his legacy, he also has four grandchildren; Londyn Green, Krystal Hicks, Mason Jenkins and Margaux Jenkins.

Tony was known as the life of the party. He loved to inspire youth to pursue education with great fervor and excitement. He knew no strangers. Even in the deepest of conflicts and darkest of illness, Tony found resolution to forgive, love and laugh along the way.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Henri Mae Hicks-McGill, his paternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Sibley and paternal grandfather, Rev. Walter C. Sibley; his aunts Barbara Roberts, Annie Hicks and Jeannette Sibley Lightfoote; his uncles, Clarence Hicks, Samuel Hicks, Eddie Hicks, Reginald Hicks, Willie Hicks, Walter Sibley, Jr., and Wilie C. Sibley.

On June 10, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital surrounded by his mother and other family members, Tony bid his final goodbye on earth and his forever hello in eternity.

He leaves to cherish his life, love and legacy the following: His mother, Carol Lewis of Albany, GA; two children, Annie Nicole Hicks and Nicholas Jenkins; four grandchildren, Londyn Green, Krystal Hicks, Mason Jenkins and Margaux Jenkins; brothers, Recardo B. Sibley (Noemi), Charles Wiley (Eula), and John Paul; sisters, Katrice Hibler and Alfie Armstrong.
