IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tracy
Mcgill
February 26, 1968 – April 12, 2025
Tracy Lavaughn McGill, daughter of the late David C. Taylor, Sr. and Mary Louise McGill, was born in Warwick, Georgia on February 26, 1968.
Growing up in Albany, Georgia, she received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System, including Monroe High School. Throughout school, Tracy was a lively, energetic student and a ray of sunshine to teachers, fellow classmates, and friends.
Tracy was a very persistent, independent individual with an everlasting love for her family. Being a mother and grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life and she never wavered in her duties and responsibilities. For many years, she cared for the needs of her family through her employment with Sunnyland Farms of Albany. While there, she was a dedicated employee who took great pride in her work and always stayed the course to ensure that no task was ever left undone. Later, she joined the ranks of employees at Tyson Foods in Camilla, Georgia where she worked untiringly; oftentimes going above and beyond company standards until her health declined.
Endearingly called "Plant" by family, and friends, Tracy embraced life with open arms. She was often described as a strong-willed, outspoken individual who brought laughter, loads of fun, and a lot of spice to any gathering. Truly, her "one-of-a-kind/keeping it real" personality attracted many people to her and kept them on their toes. The bonds of friendship that she developed throughout her life helped to creating loving and lasting memories that will forever be cherished and remembered. Plant believed deeply in unconditional love, always stood ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, delighted in spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed engaging everyone around her in endless hours of fun-filled conversations. Her presence will be missed.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, Tracy transitioned from this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital. Although her earthly departure leaves a void, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her dearly.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Quantisha Daniels, Tieria Daniels, and Tia McGill all of Albany, GA; her beloved grandson, Derrick Anderson of Albany, GA; siblings, David C. Taylor, Jr., Johnny Taylor, and Donald D. Taylor all of Cordele, GA; uncles, Sammy (Chenese) McGill and Danny McGill of Cordele, GA, Oscar (Patricia) McGill of Ashburn, GA, and Dennis (Rosemary) McGill of Sylvester, GA; aunts, Azzie McGill, Della McGill, and Rossie (Alberdine) Williams all of Albany, GA, and Lucille McGill and Barbara (Johnny) Dennis of Cordele, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
