Obituary

Travis Monquez McDonald was born October 27, 1979, in Albany, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Eddie Mae Walker McDonald and the late Joseph McDonald.

He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Dougherty Comprehensive High School in 1998. Throughout school, Travis was a lively, strong-willed young man who was always ready for adventure. He loved all sports, but his love for football was apparent from the moment he picked up a football. While at Dougherty, he pushed himself to become a fierce, lettered "Trojan" football player. Travis was proud to be a Trojan, remained committed to his alma mater, and returned each year for the alumni reunions.

Having a strong desire to gain industrial/technical skills, he enrolled in Albany Technical College in the Industrial Electrical Technology program. Travis' work ethics developed early as he engaged in a very diverse professional career. He began his work experience at Maryland Friend Chicken where he was employed as a cook for numerous years.

Looking forward to a better future, he later gained employment at Excel P&G, Tara Foods, Linkeage, and Longistic Manufacturing. While his work with each of these companies proved to be rewarding, he joined the ranks of employees at McLane Food Service Distribution as a Forklift Operator where he remained until his demise. He was a persistent, conscientious worker whose employment was marked by honesty and integrity.

Fondly known as "Bigg Mixx and Radio" by friends and family, Travis was a loving son, devoted father, committed brother, caring uncle, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend who embraced life with open arms. He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with family and he nurtured relationships with people that remain to this day his life-long friends. Travis was a die-hard Florida Seminoles fan and devoted much of his time cheering them on to victory. He was also an avid SHOE collector and enjoyed listening to music.

Although faced with significant health challenges, Travis persevered courageously until he faced the sunset of his life on August 2, 2021. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, James C. Walker and Ola Mae Walker; aunt and uncles, Geraldine Crawford and Joseph, Bennie, Willie James, and James Walker.

Cherished memories will forever remain with his devoted mother, Eddie Mae McDonald; his children, DeMarjai McDonald and Nikiya McDonald; siblings, Gwendolyn (Aaron) Favors, Stephanie McDonald, Melissa McDonald, Amanda McDonald, Tijuana Hightower, and Corey Jackson; his stepmother, Bertha McDonald; nieces and nephew, Denisa, Tykeria, and Ariya McDonald, Kesha Favors, and Aaron (Michelle) Favors, Jr.; and a host of cousins, extended family,
and friends.
