Tremel Donoval Holsey was born in Albany, Georgia on April 14, 2005.  He was the beloved son of Michael Bernard Holsey, Sr. and Lamonica T. Route Holsey.

He was educated in the Dougherty County School System,  Dougherty Comprehensive High School.  Tre, as he was endearingly called, had an unprecedented passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge that inspired both his peers and teachers alike.  He was not just a student, but an active participant in shaping a positive school atmosphere.  His dedication to his education was unwavering, ultimately culminating in his well-deserved graduation with honors in 2024.  While at Dougherty, he shared a special bond with his elementary assistant principal/high school principal, Mr. Jerry Sanders, who loved him dearly. Having been recruited by Mr. Hubbard to join the Trojan Chess Club, Tre was a "chess purist" who did not like to lose!

To have known Tremel was to know a very special, caring, intelligent, and witty young man.  He had an infectious personality that pulled   people in and never let them go.  Tre was a friend to everyone, and was fiercely loyal to those he loved.  He was always there with a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, or a joke to brighten even the darkest days.  His zest for life and uncanny ability to find joy in the simplest of moments taught us all to appreciate the small wonders that surround us every day.

Tre enjoyed gaming, listening to music, dancing, and playing basketball.  He also cherished sharing laughs and good times with his family—big brother  Michael, aunties Missy and Angela, uncle Timothy, and special cousins Blaine and Bryce.  His life was filled with infinite gratitude and love for his parents and grandmother Gloria.  Without a doubt, Tremel was the best son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin anyone could ever hope for.  While his absence leaves an irreplaceable void, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

On September 9, 2025, Tremel transitioned from this earthly life surrounded by his loving family at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Theodore Holsey, Sr. and Wilford Wallace.

Tremel's wonderful life will forever be cherished by his parents, Michael Bernard Holsey, Sr. (Sabrina) and Lamonica T. Holsey; brother, Michael Bernard Holsey, Jr.; grandmothers, Gloria Holsey and Brenda Route; aunts and uncle, Wendy Thomas, Lorraine Jackson, Adrianne Holsey (Kently), Angela Holsey, Roletta "Missy" Holsey, Kimberly Smith, and Timothy Holsey; great aunts, Janice Route Blaylock and  Erma Reddick (Johnny); and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
