A Time to be Born...

Tyquis Devon Smith affectionately known to many of his peers as "Pressure Man" entered this earthly journey on July 8, 1993 to Latasha Wade in Savannah, GA. He was the middle child of his siblings. The family members that preceded him in death are his Great Great Granparents, Alvie "PaPa" and Johnnie Mae "Madear" Gaut; Great Grandparents, Morris "Pretty Boy" Smith, Ernestine Borders and Goldie "Dear Dear" Flemings, and his "Favorite Aunt" Delores Gaut Thomas. Also, he was preceded in death by his friend/spiritual brother Anthony "Senseii" Wright; girlfriend, Adrionna "Adri" Holmes, and friend, Demarquis Williams.

A Time to Sow…

Tyquis accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at New St. Stephens Baptist Church in Albany, GA under the leadership of Rev. James Blue with his Aunt Earnestine and Uncle John Haggins. He was known to Rev. Blue as "Bubba" the young big headed boy that always wanted to play football and eat up all of his tootsie rolls. Later, the Haggins Family transitioned from New St. Stephens to Faith & Prayer Ministries, Inc./Center of Refuge Church in Albany, GA under the leadership of Founders George & Apostle Annie W. Wingfield and Apostle Gwendolyn T. Hope. He was an active member of the Christian Step Teams Lil' Saints, the Lord Disciple Boyz and the COR Rap Team. At Center of Refuge, Tyquis made several lifetime friends who became his brothers and sisters. Tyquis remained a member of Center of Refuge Church until his death.

A Time to Reap…

Tyquis was educated in the Dougherty County School System. He attended Albany High School where he played on the Albany Indians Football Team from 2010-2012. Tyquis was the star running back for the team and was known among the community and his peers as "T-3". During this time, he had several potential scholarships lined up and his dreams were to one day play in the NFL. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Tyquis was unable to finish his junior and senior years of High School. He kept working towards his goal to continue his education and was currently working to obtain his GED.
