Obituary
On July 19, 2017, Martez Ulyesse Thomas and Courtney Nicole James were blessed with a precious baby girl, Ur'ian Nycole Thomas. She went to her heavenly home on July 20, 2017.
Although her life was short and faced with medical challenges, she possessed strength and perseverance as she struggled to overcome incredible odds. Her brief time here on earth helped remind us that life is precious and should be celebrated; and that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Ur'ian was deeply loved by everyone around her and her gentle spirit will never be forgotten. Though it hurts to have lost "our surprise," we rejoice in knowing that she is at peace.
Heaven's gain was our loss when Ur'ian was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves behind to cherish her short but memorable life, loving parents, Courtney N. James and Martez U. Thomas of Albany, GA; grandparents, Clourisha Douglas (Daniel), Corey James (Latonya), and Mary Thomas (Cortez Davis, Sr.); great grandparents, Jacquelyn Hicks (Roosevelt), Mattie James (Roosevelt), and Viola Thomas (Willie); great-great grandparents, Deacon Edward L. Hicks, Sr. (Lela, Annie C. James, and Flossie Tinson (Willie); godmother, Yolando Terrell; aunts and uncles, Mae Von Hicks, Morgan Wilson, Cayana James, Shaneka Thomas, Lawanda Davis, LaTasha Oats, Contina May (Maydeen), Jasmine Thmas, Shamena Oats, Anitra Oliver, Cornelius Hicks (Dee), Mickey Tinson, Dominique James, Dequan Thomas, Orandon Thomas, Corey Thoas, and Cortez Oats, Jr.; three great aunts, Gwendolyn Hicks, Sheila Lewis, and Charlotte Hicks; and a host of great uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousin
