IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vickie Ann
Williams Thomas
September 22, 1958 – July 15, 2021
Vickie Ann Williams Thomas was born September 22, 1958, in Mitchell County, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Betty Mathis Williams and the late Reverend Elijah "Rabbitman" Williams.
She received her primary and secondary education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty High School. Throughout her school years, she was a ray of sunshine to teachers, fellow classmates, and close friends.
Vickie was raised in a loving, God-fearing home where she was nurtured in the Word of God and taught the importance of living a life of integrity and loving kindness. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and began her journey of Christian stewardship under the leadership and guidance of her father. In later years, she united with Greenbriar Church. Over the years, she was a faithful member and devoted herself to unparalleled service—always giving God the glory and praise.
Often described as a very conscientious and persistent individual, Vickie was an independent, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her family. For numerous years, she was employed as a DSD Clerk at Publix. She later joined the ranks of employees at J C Penny as a Sales Associate where she worked untiringly until her demise. Her career was marked by hard work, high expectations, and unquestionable integrity as she stayed the course to ensure that all tasks were completed.
Known to have a nurturing, caring spirit, Vickie was a strong but gentle lady with a heart of gold. She was a trusted friend and confidant, would lend a listening ear to those in need of compassion and support, and always looked forward to events with family and friends that brought them together in love and harmony. Regardless of the circumstances, she was always there to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Vickie lived every day with a purpose, enjoyed sports—especially football, and readily welcomed family and friends into a home filled with good conversation and lots of laughs. Her fun-loving side made her a joy to be around. She will be remembered as a lady of good humor and boundless generosity.
On Thursday, July 15, 2021, Vickie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Delijah Duvall; and a brother-in-law, Henry Solomon.
Loving memories will forever remain the hearts of her sons, Montreal Thomas, Keith (Monique) Thomas, and Jarius (Melanie) Jones; grandchildren, Kiarra Thomas, Christopher Jones, Melania Jones, Jayden Jones, Kingston Thomas, and Kali Thomas; one great grandson, Joshua Salter, Jr.; siblings, Nathaniel (Jo) Hollis, Patricia Williams, Tony (Charlie) Williams, Johnny (Vickie) Williams, Brenda Solomon, Etta Williams, Elijah Williams, Cathy Jackson, Cornelius Williams, Greta Harris, and Grindal Laster; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.
