IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Mae
Cobb
October 29, 1958 – January 21, 2021
A Time to Be Born: The season of life for Virginia Mae Cobb began in Baker County, Georgia on October 29, 1958. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Mattie C. Cobb.
A Time to Learn: During the early years of her life, she was educated in the Terrell County School System. Throughout school, she was actively involved in various school functions and activities.
A Time to Serve: Virginia had the great advantage of growing up in a home where she was taught to love and reverence the Lord. At an early age, she professed her faith and belief in Christ, united with the First Kiokee Baptist Church, and remained a faithful servant throughout life's journey.
A Time to Love: Family was paramount in Virginia's life. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, and reliable cousin who believed deeply in unconditional love and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was often described as the "calm in the storm—the glue that held her family together."
A Time to Embrace: Virginia garnered much from her experiences and embraced life with open arms. She was blessed to have many cherished friendships, to create strong connections that helped her spirit shine, and she made a difference in the lives of people around her. Always gentle, always kind, Virginia was a selfless person who saw the beauty in all things; accepted everyone for who they were; and openly welcomed them into her heart and home. She had a great sense of humor and a twinkle in her eye that always made you wonder what she was thinking. Her beautiful smile and encouraging words could turn an ordinary day into an adventure, a chore into an activity, and a boring evening into a memory. She was the best friend anyone could ever hope for and will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Time to Rest : On January 19, 2021, Virginia's earthly season ended at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and she transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted friend and companion, Frank Boone, Jr.; and six siblings, Eugene Patterson, Willie C. Peterson, Homer Cobb, Jr., Marvin Cobb, Betty Cobb, and Janie Mae Loud.
A Time to Cherish: Loving memories will forever be cherished by her daughters, Teresa (Dewaski) King and Marilyn Cobb of Albany, GA; two sisters, Alice Cobb of Albany, GA and Pearl Brown of Dawson, GA; grandchildren, Jasmine Washington, Lamario Cobb, Quantavious Cobb, Damya King, Desiray Wallace, Brielle King, and Dewaski King, Jr. all of Albany, GA; sister-in-law, Terry Cobb of Dawson, GA; brother-in-law, Alonzo Loud of Sasser, GA; uncles and aunts, Eddie (Bertha) Cobb of Pelham, GA, Nathaniel Cobb and John (Mary Lee) Wesley of Newton, GA, Lynward (Sabrina) Cobb of McDonough, GA, Ella (Ed) Hall of Valdosta, GA, and Della Guest and Elizabeth (Lynward) Elliott of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
