IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia B.
Tyler
August 14, 1936 – October 1, 2022
Virginia Bullard Tyler was born in Colquitt, Georgia on August 14, 1936, to the late John and Leila Bullard. The family relocated to Albany, Georgia in 1946.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, she was a thoughtful and caring young lady who consistently demonstrated exceptional talents and potential.
Raised in a strong Christian home, Virginia became a soldier for Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in her calling as a member of the Senior Choir, Usher Board, and Mother of the Church. Through the years, she remained steadfast in Christian stewardship. "Mother Tyler" as she was so fondly called, was a prayer warrior who was deeply rooted and grounded in the Lord. You could not know her without being inspired by her devotion to her church and her strong convictions that allowed her to be an example for many.
Domestic at heart, Mother Tyler was unwavering in her dedication to foster a home filled with love, joy, and strong values. She was a selfless individual who ate not the bread of idleness and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. In 1967, she became a "career" employee at Bob's Candy Company who never shied away from hard work and gave her very BEST until her retirement. Family was paramount to Mother Tyler and nothing was more important than the care and well-being of her loved ones. She provided unconditional support, tender guidance, encouragement, and love beyond measure.
A soft-spoken, genuine, and generous lady, Mother Tyler had a servant's heart and always stood ready to help others or lend a listening ear. Many people considered her a wise, trusted counsel and a difference maker. She was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
On October 1, 2022, Mother Tyler transitioned from her earthly body to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, John, Richard Sr, and Seymour.
She leaves a legacy of love and humility that will forever be cherished by her children, David Tyler of Atlanta, GA, Kimberly Tyler of Fairfield, CA, and Gilbert (Debbie) Tyler, Karen Tyler Green, and Tracey Tyler all of Albany, GA; two siblings, Katie B. Stevenson of Atlanta, GA and Robert (Ceneva) Bullard of Dallas, GA; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kate Askew; and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who are forever grateful for the opportunity to have experienced her love and generosity.
