IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virgle Cane
Farmbry, Jr.
January 6, 1954 – January 18, 2025
On January 6, 1954, a small bundle of joy, Virgle C. Farmbry, Jr., came into the world to be watched and meticulously cared for in the neonatal unit during the first weeks of his life. He was the youngest son of Virgle C. Farmbry, Sr. and Hazel Coleman Farmbry.
Known to many as "VIP", Virgle was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Dougherty Comprehensive High School in 1972. Throughout school, VIP was an exceptionally perceptive young man who took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. In an effort to pursue his life's vocation, he continued his quest for knowledge at Albany Area Vocational-Technical School (now Albany Technical College).
Virgle was formerly married to Denise Sims and with this union, two sons were born—Charles and Michael.
A highly skilled and conscientious individual, VIP was a career employee with Georgia Pacific whose service record was defined by hard work, high expectations, and unquestionable integrity. Daily, he poured himself into his work, never shied away from a challenge, and took great pride in a job well done. Upon retirement, he was lauded as a loyal, dedicated employee who was punctual, always prepared for work, jovial but sincere, and worked tirelessly to meet and/or exceed department goals.
VIP was a very unique individual. Anyone who knew him would agree that he was extremely straight-forward, unpretentious, and strong-willed; but he was also the voice of calm and humility. He was full of life, love, and kindness; nevertheless, he was never short on a joke or perfectly timed comic relief. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending quality time with family and friends. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed attending football games and was a loyal supporter of the ASU Golden Rams.
Although faced with significant health challenges, Virgle persevered until he faced the sunset of his life on January 18, 2025 at Pruitthealth-Palmyra. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Farmbry.
Cherished memories will forever remain with his sons, Charles Farmbry and Michael Farmbry; his grandson, P6 Laconta Jackson; his brother, Deacon George Coleman (Durie); nephews, Ret. MSgt. Michael Coleman, D'Cory George Coleman (Kayla), Albert Wash, Jr., Alijah Wash, and Michael Coleman, Jr.; nieces, Teresa Coleman Wash (Albert Sr.), Diaundra Marie Coleman, Mandy Coleman, Zyan Coleman, and Khloe Coleman; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends .
