Obituary

Walter L. Shiloh, Sr. was born to Addie "Annie" Pearl McCoy Perkins  and Walter Watson on July 27, 1956, in Leesburg, Georgia.

He attained his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, he excelled while participating in various student organizations and activities.

At an early age, Walter accepted Christ as his personal savior.  From that point on, he actively served in many capacities within the church.  With a voice that only God could ordain, Walter traveled extensively utilizing his gift of son to praise and glorify the Lord.  In 1990, he joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the male chorus for many years.  One of his favorite songs was "Walk Around Heaven" by the Gospel Keynotes.

Walter had a heart of gold, never met a stranger, and willingly helped others.  He was a great communicator with a wealth of knowledge who loved to share words of wisdom.  His smile and one-of-a-kind personality brought sunshine wherever he trod.  He was a devoted husband, dedicated father and grandfather, committed brother and uncle, and  loyal friend whose legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of being a part of his life.

On Monday, April 19, 2021, the trumpets sounded, and God  opened the heavens to call his servant home to eternal peace and rest.  Walter was predeceased by his parents, Annie Perkins and Walter Watson.

Loving memories of a life well lived will forever remain with his beloved wife, Dr. Mattie Shiloh; five children, Cynthia (Wayne) Butler, Walter Shiloh, Jr., Brandon (Fallon) Shiloh, Bryan (Emma) Shiloh, and Chadrick C. Shiloh; grandchildren, Quntisha, Qunteko, Braylon, Brandon Jr., Brannen Brana é , Emma Grace, Zabi, Janette, and Aleyah; one great granddaughter, T'Ailyn; siblings, Diane (Alonzo) Chatman, Ira (Husher) Smith, Jimmy (Christina) Perkins, Jacqueline (Cedric) Ransom, Tony (Joeanna) Perkins, Eric Jackson, and Timothy Perkins; his godbrother, Lonnie J.
