Wanda Faye Harris was born in Albany, Georgia on December 8, 1954. She was raised under the guiding hands of the late Clifford Newkirk Erven and John Wesley Erven.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1972. While at Monroe, Wanda was actively involved in various school organizations, functions and activities.
Having professed her faith and belief in Christ very early in life, Wanda united with Beulah Baptist Church where she served faithfully in numerous capacities. She dearly loved the Lord and remained steadfast throughout life's journey.
Wanda was a very independent person who had an everlasting love for her children. Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her family and ate not the bread of idleness. Over the years, she engaged in very diverse work experiences, including a housekeeper, waitress at Red Lobster, and an exceptionally talented and creative hairstylist.
A beautiful free-spirited individual, Wanda was good natured and generous; had a warm and glowing personality; and she welcomed everyone into her heart and home with open arms. She noticed the beauty in everything, the good in everyone, and delighted in helping and caring for others. Her friendliness and kindness to all people and her devotion and love for family and friends are lasting tributes to the beauty of her heart and soul. In her free time she enjoyed fishing at Lake Blackshear, going to yard sales, and eating a buffet restaurants with friends and family. Her laugh, hugs, cooking, conversations, touch, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.
On February 16, 2022, Wanda transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her aunt, Estella Watts.
Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters, Keysha Erven and Shamika Erven; grandchildren, Shykesea Jackson and Dontavious Hicks; numerous siblings; her aunt, Fluddie Holt; goddaughter, Santana King; close friend, Nellie Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
