IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wiley Howard,
Jr.
May 26, 1947 – January 30, 2024
Wiley Howard, Jr. was born in Dawson, Georgia on May 26, 1947. He was the beloved son of the late Wiley Howard, Sr. and Ruby Mobley Howard.
He was educated in the Terrell County School System, including Carver High School. Throughout school, Wiley was a lively, strong-willed young man who was always ready for adventure while actively participating in various student activities and events.
A very conscientious and persistent individual, Wiley believed strongly in working for what you want and always doing the right thing. He was a career employee with Golden Peanut Company who never shied away from a challenging task; rather, he worked tirelessly to ensure that his work met or exceeded company standards. After rendering 30 years of dedicated service, he retired and relocated to Albany, Georgia.
Very early in life, Wiley accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Through the years, he remained a steadfast and prayerful servant as he journeyed through life. Upon moving to Albany, he united with New Birth Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Leon Gardner. He dearly loved the Lord; was unfaltering in Christian stewardship; and was unyielding in living a life that was pleasing to God.
Wiley was a kind-hearted man who embraced life's experiences with arms. He was a devoted brother, loving uncle, caring cousins, and loyal friend whose love knew no boundaries. His compassion, understanding, responsiveness, and willingness to help others made him a cherished friend to many. He will be missed by all who dearly loved him. In his leisure, he enjoyed many fun-filled family gatherings and attending gospel concerts.
On January 30, 2024, Wiley transitioned from life's earthly journey at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Lee Howard, Willie Fred Howard, William Howard, and Johnny Lee Howard.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by four siblings, Arnita Howard, Mary Howard, Patricia (Arthur Lee) Howard, and Benny Howard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
