Obituary

Willie Don Hudson, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia on November 15, 1959. He was the son of the late Willie Don Hudson, Sr. and Hannah Doris Pinkney Hudson. As a super energetic toddler, he was given the nickname "Mickey" by his mother; in honor of her favoriate actor, Mickey Rooney who was also very active and energetic.

He attended the public schools of Early and Dougherty Counties, including Kestler Elementary School in Damascus, GA, and Flintside Elementary, River Road Junior High, and Westover High School of Albany. While at Westover, he was a two-year letterman of the Patriots football team and received numerous awards for his athletic prowess and skills.

After graduation, Willie enlisted in the United States Army where he served with distinction. He completed tours of duty at military installations in Ft. Dix, New Jersey; Sole, Korea; and Frankfort, Germany. He was discharged with full military honors. The discipline and patriotism he learned during his military career never left him, as family and friends can attest.

He was formerly married to his high school sweetheart, Lavonne Mosley.

Willie was a keen, persistent and hardworking individual who firmly believed that work is honorable. His professional work life was diverse and rewarding. For numerous years, he was employment at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and DJ's Car Wash. He later accepted employment at UPS where he remained a loyal and dedicated employee until his demise.

Having professed his faith and belief in the Lord, Isaac began his Christian walk at the Harvest Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized and received the "right hand of fellowship" into the body of Christ. Isaac was a faithful member of the church and was actively engaged in his duties as an Usher.

"Twenty-five" and "Gotti," names affectionately given to him by neighborhood friends and his cousin, Horace Webb, Jr., was a loving son; unfailing brother; nurturing uncle; caring cousin; and loyal friend who embraced life with open arms. He had an endless reservoir of compassion for his family and friends. Willie loved life, his Riverdale neighborhood and community, and the world in which he lived. He will long be remembered for his dance moves that would bring the house down; his amazing sense of humor; his uncanny ability to make people laugh and smile; and his gigantic heart that was always open to anyone in need.

Willie's eatthly journey quietly ended at his home on Thursday, February 8, 2018. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hudson.
