IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William
Henderson
April 25, 1950 – August 25, 2024
William Henderson was born in Arlington, Georgia on April 25, 1950. He was the son of the late Eddie Henderson and Eddie Mae Stringer Henderson.
Growing up in a strong Christian home, William was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized, and united with the Kiokee Missionary Baptist Church. He dearly loved the Lord and remained humble throughout life's journey.
William was educated in the Early County School System, graduating from Early County High School. Throughout his school years, he was a very enthusiastic, free-spirited young man who garnered much from his educational experiences and co-curricular activities.
Ready to serve his country shortly after graduation, William enlisted in the United States Navy and served with distinction. He was a soldier to the core who believed strongly in loyalty and commitment to his country. During his enlistment, he received numerous awards and commendations for his valiant and meritorious service in Vietnam. Upon completion of his final military assignment, he was honorably discharged and returned to civilian life in Newark, New Jersey.
Wilcox, as he was endearingly called, was a very persistent, industrious individual who was never satisfied with idleness. While residing in New Jersey, he was employed with numerous companies and worked untiringly to meet and often exceed company goals and standards. In later years, longing to reconnect with family and friends, he relocated to Arlington, Georgia where he continued working with local businesses. No matter what the task, he gave his best at all times.
Incredible father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, William was a kind and gentle man whose love and devotion were immeasurable. He was a dedicated father who instilled in his children the value of education, hard work, integrity and professionalism. Family and friends were paramount in his life and he treasured the time spent with them profoundly. His laugh and sense of humor will be remembered fondly by all; as well as his supportive words of encouragement and caring spirit.
On August 25, 2024, our beloved William/Wilcox was called home to be with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Ruby Lee McGriff, Mildred Daniels, Barbara Daniels, Maudie Richardson, Elizabeth Stanford, Donnell Henderson, and Earl Henderson, Sr.
Loving memories will forever remain with his sons, Cedric Daniels and Dantrell Davis; siblings, Beverly (Johnny) Washington, Eddie (Claude) Henderson, and Roy C. (Jackie) Henderson; three grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Michele S. Robinson and Ronnie Henderson; one uncle, Benny Stringer; caregivers, Kabresha Edwards and Donnell Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
