William Hilson, beloved son of the late Royce and Annie Bell Hilson, was born December 1, 1951, in Baker County, Georgia.

After relocating to Albany, Georgia with his parents, he attended the public schools of Dougherty County School. Throughout school, he actively participated in various school functions and activities.

William was a very persistent individual whose professional work life was very rewarding. For numerous years, he worked tirelessly at Firestone of Albany until the plant closed. He was also an incredibly skilled construction worker whose craftmanship was put to task daily until his health declined.

His expertise in the industry and professional ethics were second to none and he worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was ever left undone.

"Wolf," as he was affectionately called, loved his family; treasured his friends; and had a deep attachment to his vehicles. He had a big heart for all things in life, was a friend you could always count on, and found joy in every circumstance.

William was a loving father and grandfather, a cherished uncle, a committed cousin, and a loyal friend who touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. He will be missed by all who loved him dearly.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, William departed this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bertha Dykes, John Hilson, Michael Hilson, Ananias Hilson, and Annie Hilson.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his daughter, Carmenlita Parker of Albany, GA; grandsons, Caleb Wiley and Caiden Gervin of Albany, GA; nieces and nephews, Bridget (Bright), Carl, Sonji (Randy), Michael (Cynthia), Monique, Jamaine, Vicki, Michael, Subricca, John (Priscilla), and Roy; a devoted companion and caregiver, Carolyn Cooper; and a host of friends and extended family.
