Willie Ed Barbary, beloved son of the late James and Katie Barbary, was born in Clay County, Georgia on January 25, 1953.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System.
Believing strongly in loyalty and commitment to his country, Willie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction. After returning to civilian life, he worked untiringly for numerous years at National Linens and Medi-Save Pharmacy. He was dedicated to his jobs and always made sure that no task was left undone.
Willie was called "Snake" by most of his friends; but to his family, he was simply Ed. He will be remembered most of all for his great sense of humor, his ability to get along with people, his kind spirit, and his big heart. He enjoyed the simple things in life and surrounded himself with people who relished that same life style as well.
On Sunday, June 3, 2018, Ed answered his final call and transitioned from labor to reward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Cora Simmons, Betty Jean Lee, and James Barbary, Jr.
He leaves to celebrate the memories of his life five siblings, Verdell Walker, Reverend Dr. Willie Bagley, Sr., Amy Bush, Carolyn Walker, and Anne Barbary all of Albany, GA; two very close and dear friends, Valarie Thomas Walters and Charles Walters of Albany, GA; a loving brother-in-law, Johnny Bush; two sisters-in-law, Helen Bagley and Ada Barbary; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
