Willie D. Beasley was born in Albany, Georgia on February 28, 1957. He was the son of the late Ruby D. Beasley and M. C. Boyd.
During the early years of his life, he attended school in the Dougherty County School System and was active in numerous school functions and activities.
Willie D. grew up as a friend to everyone. In his youth, he was energetically adventurous and saw the world with a unique perspective. He was a very outgoing person who experienced life to the fullest, was always the life of the crowd, and whose sense of humor and laughter captured the attention of everyone around him. Willie loved listening to music, dancing, and enjoying the great outdoors. He will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky guy who had a style and flair of his own, who cared deeply for his family and friends, and who kept everyone laughing.
On March 4,, 2019, Willie departed this earthly life as he entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, W. C. Howard, Charles Beasley, Eddie Beasley, and Verlyn Simpson.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his son, Santora (Alisha) Mathis; grandchildren, Tyson Mathis and Mason Mathis of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers, Robert (Freddie) Beasley of Albany, GA, Herrod (Patricia) Beasley of Jacksonville, FL, and Tommy (Ruth Freda) Hightower of Elenwood, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends in Albany, GA, Grand Rapids, MI, Indianapolis, ID, Jacksonville, FL, and Lithonia, GA.
