Obituary

Willie Mae Helm Williams, affectionately known as Bill, was born December 30, 1933, in Leary, Calhoun County, Georgia.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Elige and Trudie Bell Helm.  In 1954, she graduated from Edison High School in Edison, Ga, and soon after she married David Williams Sr., and gave birth to 11 wonderful children.  During her younger years, she wanted to pursue her education on a collegiate level and become a teacher like her mother; but after getting married she devoted her time to being a wife and a mother.

As her children grew, she also grew and blossomed in ways that left an indelible impact on her children and grandchildren.  She loved unconditionally, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, treasured spending time with family and friends, and  delighted in helping    others—never asking anything in return.

Willie Mae was a prayer warrior who heard her calling to serve the Lord at a very young age.  She was strong in the Word of God, and believed strongly in the name of Jesus.  Through the years, she remained steadfast and unmovable; always giving God the glory and the praise.

A real joy to be around, Willie Mae was a very genuine, kind-hearted lady who embraced life experiences with open arms.  She never met a stranger and could converse with anyone who came into her life.  "Bill" had a servant's heart and felt most content when serving and helping others.  Her home was a revolving door for family and friends and she never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with them.  Her unwavering spirit, generosity, and unconditional love will forever be remembered.

On October 11, 2019, Willie Mae was called home to eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her  husband,  David Williams, Sr.; her son, Laurie K. Williams; and  siblings, Johnny Will Helm, Elige Helm, Jr., Lutherine Russell, and Martha Nell Helm.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and remembered by her children, David Williams Jr.  (Anne), Theo Williams, Dianne Williams (James),  Elijah Williams (Sue), Willie E. Williams (Geri), TruRosa M. Williams, Bernard A. Williams, Sarah W. Henderson (Charlie), Derrick E. Williams (Demetrius), and Alan W.
