"Mickey" Ware
July 4, 1953 – June 22, 2019
Willie "Mickey" Ware was born on July 4, 1953 in Newton, GA to the late Charlie Ware Sr. and Annie Louise Ware. Willie accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo Heard. He briefly served on the Usher Board Ministry. Willie was educated in the Dougherty County School System where he graduated as a Golden Tornado from Monroe High School with the Class of 1971.
On June 21, 2013, Mr. Ware was recognized for serving 32 years at Water, Gas & Light as an Energy Control Supervisor. Mickey as many of his colleagues called him, was firm and fair when working with everyone. He believed in working hard and helping anyone in need.
Mickey enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, sports and working outside in his yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Mickey departed this earthly life to take his eternal rest with the Lord on June 22, 2019.
Willie "Mickey" Ware is predeceased by his daughter, Jakeia Kathleen Ware, father, Charlie Ware, Sr. and three brothers, Earnest Ware, Robert C. Ware and Charlie L. Ware, Jr.
Mickey was formerly married to Gwenda G. Ware for 24 years. Through this marriage they raised five beautiful children. He was always proudly saying that he had four hard working college graduates.
Memories of him will forever be treasured by: His Children: Narkisa Howard (Terry), Octerrius Ware, Torey Ware and Napoleon Ware; His grandchildren: Keri Howard and Justin Howard; His daughter and grandson: Tacara Brown and Khalil Washington; His Mother: Annie Louise Ware; Eleven Brothers: Zeddie Ware, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Lonnie Green (Ruby), Lougene Ware, Henry Ware, Michael Ware (Sherry), Travis Ware, all of Albany, GA. Willie C. Ware (Beatrice), Columbia, SC., Charles Ware (Martha), Kathleen, GA., Ulysses Ware (Veronica), Gordon, GA, Kenneth Ware (Juanda), Kennesaw, Ga. and Christopher Slaughter (Uvonda) Columbus, GA.; One Sister: Kawanda Hines (Darryl), Albany, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
