IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Brodie
Nix, Jr.
February 12, 1966 – July 23, 2025
Willie Broadie Nix, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia on February 12, 1966. He was the beloved son of the late Willie B. Nix, Sr. and Inez
Moore Turner.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1984.
Throughout school, Sammy was a highly energetic and inquisitive student who gained valuable technical and industrial skills. He was also a very talented athlete who excelled in both football and wrestling at Monroe. Willie was proud to be a Tornado, remained committed to his alma mater, and actively participated in alumni reunions.
At a very early age, Willie began his steadfast journey with the Lord.
He was a devoted member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church who committed himself unfalteringly in Christian stewardship. You could not know him without being inspired by his unparalleled service and devotion as a Deacon. His encouraging words and the examples that he set through the years served as blessings for many people.
Willie relied on his hands-on skills to work as a handyman in Albany and surrounding areas. His work ethic and meticulous approach
earned him a reputation that brought a steady stream of clients for many years. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades who was dedicated to pleasing people with his work, and striving to be the best at whatever task her faced.
Loving father, nurturing grandfather, committed brother, caring uncle, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend, Willie's heart was filled with kindness, care, and compassion. He loved unconditionally and always stood ready to help others—never asking anything in return. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
On July 23, 2025, Willie answered the Master's call to eternal peace and rest. Although his departure from this earthly realm leaves a void, he has left indelible footprints that will forever be remembered. Willie is survived by his children, Tiffany Nix, Earnest Nix, Timothy Wingfield, Kalisha Barthel, Brittney Blackshear, and Myeisha Frazier; two siblings, Demessial N. Brown and Jason Cole; eleven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends.
