IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Pearl
Williams
April 2, 1925 – October 9, 2022
Willie Pearl Williams was born in Dawson, Georgia on April 2, 1924. She was the beloved daughter of the late Marion and Josephine Green.
Her Christian experience began at a very early age when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a devout member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist where she served faithfully and joyfully in various capacities for many years. A powerful prayer warrior who was strong in her faith, in character, and in wisdom, she stayed on the battlefield—always giving God the praise and glory.
On December 6, 1947, she was joined in holy matrimony to Andrew Williams who preceded her in death. Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and true devotion to each other. Through the years, she proved to be a true anchor and helpmate while supporting her husband in all of his endeavors. Family relationships were vital to her and a source of great joy. Although she did not have children of her own, the Lord allowed her to be a mother figure for her nieces and nephews who became the benefactors of her unconditional love and generosity. Over the years, she nurtured Belinda, Beverly, Fredrick, and Ulysses with tender guidance, unrestricted support, and boundless love; and she cherished each precious moment spent with them.
"Aunt Pearl," as she was endearingly known to many, accomplished many great things in her 98 years. She was always service oriented, her hands were never idle as she sought to do good each day. Skilled in the art of homemaking, she opened her heart and used her hands to bless the lives of others. Even in challenging times, she always maintained a joyful and positive spirit and resolve. Aunt Pearl touched the lives of all within her family circle, and considered her family her most prized possession. She taught by example and showed everyone around her what it means to truly be Christ-like. Yes, she lived a full and memorable life—patient, encouraging, kind, fair, loyal, tender, kind, refined, faithful, good, and virtuous.
On October 9, 2022, Almighty God called His faithful servant home. She entered into eternal rest at the home shared with her caregivers/niece and nephew, Rodney and Belinda Marshall, in Warner Robins, Georgia. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, OZ Green, Johnnie Green, Fred Green, Mollie Session, Ozella Booker, Ozziebell Williams, Essie Mae Green, and Emma Riggins.
She leaves a legacy of love, grace, and peace that will forever be cherished by her beloved nieces and nephews, Belinda (Rodney) Marshall, Beverly McClain, Fredrick Albritten, and Ulysses Albritten; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
