Woodrow Snells was born July 11, 1941.  He was the beloved son of the late Fred Snells and Willie Myrtle Thomas Snells.

He received his formal education in the Randolph County and Dougherty County School Systems.  Throughout school, he was a very perceptive and inquisitive student who garnered much from his educational experiences.

At a very young age, Woodrow accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.  He dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful in his daily walk.

Woodrow was united in holy matrimony to Zelma Grant who preceded him in death.  He was a devoted husband and father who was passionate about his family and took great care in providing for them.  Never one to take shortcuts, Woodrow gave his very best at all times and prided himself in a job well done.

A very unique and unpretentious individual, Woodrow greatly impacted his surroundings.  He was full of life, kind-hearted and generous, and he brought excitement everywhere he went.  Family and friends meant the world to him and he delighted in spending quality time with them.  He had an infectious laugh, loved a challenge, and always tried to bring happiness and peace to everyone around him. His presence will be deeply missed.

On March 31, 2023, Woodrow transitioned from with earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Snells; and his siblings, Emma Jean Snells Cobb, Murphy Rayy Snells, Willie Fred Snells, Sr., John Fletcher Snells, Ozzie Lee Snells, Sr., and David Snells.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Mary Jean (Lamar) Snells and Lamar (Diane) Snells; two devoted nieces/caregivers, Deborah Ingram and Barbara J. Peterson; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
