Obituary

Yolanda Denise Coe-Worthy was born June 25, 1970, in Albany, Georgia.  She was the beloved daughter of Marvin and Betty Coe.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School.  Throughout school, she was a very  lively, energetic young lady who excelled academically while actively participating in various student organizations.  Her passion, tenacity, and drive spilled over into her college years and into adulthood.

Very early in life, Yolanda was nurtured in the Word of God.  As a youth, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Cray's Chapel CME Church.  Throughout life's journey, she remained prayerful and never ceased to give God praise and glory for all of her blessings.

Yolanda had a zest for life in everything that she did.  After moving to Maryland, she joined the ranks of employees at the Canada Dry Potomac Corporation.  Throughout her career, she never shied away from hard work; constantly exceeded goals; and always gave her best—no matter what the task.  Her gentle spirit, infused with a delightful sense of humor, made a favorite among co-workers and supervisors.

Loving daughter, awesome sister, nurturing aunt, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Yolanda  had a servant's heart and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others.  One of her greatest qualities was her ability to encourage people to make the best of everything.  She believed wholeheartedly that there was no obstacle that could not be overcome.  A beacon of light and love, she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On July 19, 2024, Yolando transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents,   Wallace and Mable Taylor, John Henry, Jr., and Pearlie Mae Coe; her aunts, Maime Wooden, Juanita Williams, Yvonne Taylor, and Emma Sue Harris; and her uncle, Bobby Coe.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Garrett Worthy; her loving parents, Marvin and Betty Coe; beloved sister, Myra Coe; treasured niece and nephew, Taylor Denise Rogers and Tyler Mills; aunts, Imogene Williams and Jody May; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
