Zsanobia Juanece Foster, beloved daughter of Juanita Sherman and Willie "June Bug" Chester, was born in Albany, Georgia on September 6, 1972.
During the early years of her life, she attended the public schools of Dougherty County. After moving to Panama City, Florida with her family, she attended Rutherford High School and graduated in 1990. While at Rutherford, she was a member of the "Rams" marching band. Later in life, she continued her education at Gulf Coast State College where she was awarded an Associate's degree in Sociology.
Zsanobia had the great advantage of growing up in a home in which the Lord was feared and worshipped. Over the years, she was an active and dedicated member of New Bethel Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida. She served faithfully in the Sunday School and was always ready to help in various other capacities. She dearly loved the Lord and her church family.
Novia believed strongly in loyalty and commitment to her country and community. Heeding the call for military duty, she enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served with distinction. She was stationed throughout the United States with Alaska being one of her favorite assignments. The discipline and patriotism she learned during her military career never left her, as family and friends can attest. During her tours of duty, Zsanobia met Kenneth Foster. It was not long before their courtship led them to matrimony and their union was blessed with a loving family. At the close of her 11-year tour of duty, she received an honorable discharge and returned to civilian life fulfilling her responsibilities as a wife, mother, and homemaker.
Family and friends were Zsanobia's greatest cherished gifts. She was a deeply caring and compassionate person whose life was filled with service to others. Her one-of-a-kind personality attracted a circle of people who became the recipients of a long-lasting friendship. Her love of family and their love for her will forever be treasured.
The journey of life ended on Thursday, April 19, 2018, as Zsanobia peacefully transitioned from our midst. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
